HENRY STEELE OLCOTT 🧔

Na tree 🌲🌲

  Na tree is endemic to Sri Lanka and is also the national tree of Sri Lanka.          The wood of this plant is very hardy and is known as Ironwood. It grows well in tropical climates with large shady branches and fragrant flowers.. Although endemic to Sri Lanka, it is also cultivated in Assam, southern Nepal, Indo-China and the Malay Peninsula.. The base of the Na tree, which grows to a height of about 100 feet, is often dorsal and the mountain is about 2 m in diameter. Common in the wet zone of Sri Lanka up to 1500 m above sea level. Panamure Elephant King

 The elephant was an intelligent animal during a time when Sri Lanka was a place of great distress to humans as well as wildlife. Mainly influenced by the Panamure Elephant King Panamure Elephant and the sacrifice of that elephant in the 1950s combs were first able to remove the elephant herd from Ceylon. Given the location of the Panamure Elephant Orchard, his treasure hunt in 1950 and the Sri Lankan Speaker Sir Francis Molamure had the task of capturing the Panamure Elephant Orphanage. Popularly known as a place of entertainment for the aristocracy, this method was used to tame stray elephants through tame elephants. In the elephant enclosure, wild elephants are tied to each other by a tame elephant approaching the elephant. HEALTHY FOOD 🌱

FINGER MILLET 🌱🌱🌱🌱           Finger millet ( eleusine coracana) is a traditional grain that is popular in Sri Lanka because of its nutritional value. It is called kurakkan in Sinhala and Tamil. Vitamin B, iron and calcium are all present in abundance in finger millet. It is also rich in dietary fiber and helps in easy digestion. Therefore it is an excellent remedy for construction as it acts as a natural laxative. It is low  in fat content but rich in carbohydrates which makes it good for people who are overweight. The digestion process of finger millet is slow and therefore helps in keeping the blood sugar at a low level. As a result,it has become a favourite food among diabeti patients. Kanneliya☘️

 🌱 Kanneliya forest reserve is located in the Galle district in the southern province about 125km away from Colombo. It is one of the largest forests reserves with a high bio- diversity in Sri Lanka. 🌱 Inside the forest there are many streams adding life to the vegetation. Although deforestation has affected them, these streams create several beautiful cascades. There is a high rainfall in kanneliya from may to July and again in the months of October and November,making it an ideal time to see waterfalls. The anagimale falls is the closest waterfall to the entrance of the forest reserve.it is just 2km away from the entrance. Charlie Chaplin🧙

 Sir Charles Spencer chaplin was born on 16th April 1889 in Walworth,London ,in the United Kingdom. His parents were singers and actors.after his father's death,his family had to face many challenges. As a result his mother struggled financially.  Hence charlie's childhood can be described as one with poverty and hardships. However his mother earned the living by performing on stage. The situation became worse after the illness of Charlie's mother, hannah Chaplin. He had to start work at the age of nine. All what he inherited from both his parents were put into practice. Small Charlie's will power and talent made him a stage actor and comedian. At the age of 19 he moved to the United States and joined Fred karno company. The Butterflies🦋🦋

🦋 Butterflies are the most beautiful of all insects. There are roughly 25000 species of butterflies in the world🦋 butterflies and moths make up a group of insects called lepidoptera. Butterflies fly during the night.most butterflies have knobs at the end of their antennae. They also have slender,hairless bodies whereas moths have hair on their bodies.most butterflies rest their wings held upright over their bodies🦋 A beautiful begins its life as a tiny egg, which hatches into a caterpillar.the Caterpillar spends most of their time eating and growing,but their skin does not grow,and so the  caterpillar sheds it and grows a larger one.this process is repeated several times. After the caterpillar is done growing,it forms a protective shell. That shell is called cocoon. Inside the caterpillar changes into a butterfly. The cocoon breaks when it is ready,then comes out as a beautiful butterfly. The Butterfly expands its wings and has to sit and let them dry🦋 Thank you ❤️🦋

The Kandy perahera

 The Kandy esala perahera is the most beautiful pageant in Sri Lanka. This perahera was started by king kirthi sir rajasinghe as advised by welivta Sri saranankara sangaraja thero...      This world famous pageant is held in August annually. Esala perahera consists of maligawa and four devala peraheras. a huge crowd,even foreigners, come to see this majestic procession... " Kubal perahera" and " Randoli perahera" are held for ten days. Randoli is the most beautiful perahera. The first item in the perahera is the sound of whip crackers. It is followed by the flag bearers. The peramune- rala is the one who sits on the first elephant in the perahera. After that comes so many groups of dancers of various types and drummers, beautiful dressed,to add beauty to the perahera. The tusker carrying the casket walks majestically on the pavada.
